Asian Night - Write Up - 2010 PDF Print E-mail

May 21, 2010
Teresa Cheng, Class III

Asian Night this year was a big success and it was definitely worth going to. There were a lot of people there (a full house!) and they were really enthusiastic about every performance. The performances were also really great to watch, and it was hilarious listening to the MCs’ clever jokes. I especially enjoyed their intro to Rain in the Bamboo Forest and Halo Halo. Although there were technical difficulties at the beginning, it wasn’t really much of a big deal. The food was also delicious and I definitely got my money's worth-- not only was I entertained by the performances, but also had a great experience with my friends! The show was an absolute pleasure to watch and I'll definitely be back next year!

Mic Madness - Write Up - 2010 PDF Print E-mail
March 16, 2010
Jack Tan, Class III

ASIA’s Mic Madness March event, a spinoff of the NCAA Division 1 March Madness, was a really entertaining and fun-filled event. We were introduced to the history of karaoke dating back to its founding in Japan, which many of us do not know. Then, the event proceeded with a list of over 100 pop songs from a variety of cultures that many of us are familiar with. Held in room 135, the atmosphere of the event provided a chance for amateur singers like me to have a little fun singing without worrying about messing up in a more competitive atmosphere. I am really glad I went to Mic Madness and I will definitely be there again next year!!

Kung Fu Panda - Write Up - 2010 PDF Print E-mail
February 23, 2010
Michael Leung, Class II

The Kung Fu Panda event was an entertaining experience. There was kung fu, a panda, but most of all, it was a kung fu panda. I think Kung Fu Panda is a pretty cool guy, he fights with tigers and isn't afraid of anything. The atmosphere in the electronic classroom where the movie was shown was very laid back which was perfect for the beginning of the Asian New Year.

A.S.I.A. Sing-Off - Write Up - 2009 PDF Print E-mail

December 23, 2009
Felicia Simmons, Class III

The 2009 ASIA Sing Off was a great show. The singers were amazing. You could tell that they weren't holding anything back in their performance. The MCs were hilarious and even the Headmaster found them to be so. The icing on the cake was definitely the decoration and theme. The express train and open box cart was a nice touch! I CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT YEAR AND I HOPE MORE PEOPLE GO TOO!!! So glad I went and also helped out!!!!

Loaded Questions - Write Up - 2009 PDF Print E-mail

 November 17, 2009
Anonymous

The “Loaded Questions” event was the first A.S.I.A. event I went to this year. I’m glad that I went to this event because it turned out to be a lot of fun! The game was a great way to learn how certain people think and if they were good at lying or not. The answers to some questions were hilarious. Sometimes we laughed so hard, I was crying! I recall one question being, “If you had a pet monkey, what would you name it?” The answers were “Curious George, Bozo, etc.” The officer in my group was Thi.
